Mamiche

Montmartre & Northern Paris

Take one bite into a cinnamon roll, apricot crostata or signature babka (orange-blossom and chocolate brioche) at this new-generation boulangerie and you'll be hooked. Young entrepreneurs Cécile Khayat and Victoria Effantin quit their day jobs to open this neighbourhood bakery and their artisan pains and pastries are now the hottest thing here since sliced bread.

No summertime picnic is complete without a Mamiche fougasse (doughy, savoury bread from Provence, similar to pizza) studded with tomatoes and homemade pesto. Find a second branch on rue Château d'Eau in the 10e.
