Hôtel Edward 1er

The Dordogne

Rooms in this tower-topped mansion get more luxurious the more you pay: top-of-the-line suites have a choice of jacuzzi or Turkish bath, and views of surrounding hills. It feels slightly dated considering the price, but the owners are fun, and there’s an excellent restaurant (menus €31.50 to €51), for which you should book ahead.
