Step into the lobby of the London Edition and you're greeted by a stunning combination of old and new – from the stucco ceiling hangs an Ingo Maurer pendulum, reflecting the ornate surrounds in all directions. The 173 wood-panelled rooms are uncomplicated, with mid-century elements and faux-fur throws.
All the rooms are adorned by photographic portraits of Dutch photographer Hendrik Kerstens' daughter Paula in myriad poses inspired by Holland's Golden Age in the 17th century.
