Gone are the days when hotel rooms in Matanzas were luxuries you had to be 50 years old to remember. Tying in with the city’s recent beautification, this new hotel run by Cuba’s cheaper Islazul brand looks anything but cheap inside. There’s a lovely mahogany bar, color-refracting stained glass and smart rooms which, though dark, are enlivened by bright photo graphics.
