A work of creative genius on the Malecón, this French-run hotel is a whimsical mélange of art, recycling, comfort and sophistication. The four rooms are individually themed (art deco, vintage, contemporary and eclectic), but all are doused with Cuban flavor, from AfroCuban religions to carnivals to cutting-edge street art.
The pièce de la résistance is the 3rd-floor suite with its curvaceous chairs, tiled bathtub, and private bar (now that’s what you call room service!) with a terrace that overlooks the Malecón. Nonguests can enjoy a downstairs cafe crammed with artistic creations based on Cuba’s recycling ethic, and a rooftop terrace that mixes fine mojitos after 6pm; the terrace also has a Jacuzzi (for guests only). A very cool concept store on the ground floor, close to the entrance, sells unique locally made fashion accessories.
