Memories Flamenco Beach Resort

Cayo Coco

Opened in 2011 and equipped with 624 decent-sized rooms (still looking fairly shiny) in 10 gabled three-floor villas arranged around two pools (one with a swim-up bar). There's an attractive Asian restaurant and all the usual bells and whistles (gym, beauty parlor, kids' club etc), although for some reason it only gets 4½ stars. It's part-run by the Canadian Blue Diamond group.
