Hotel Boyeros

Liberia

The largest hotel in Liberia feels like a cross between a dude ranch and a North American chain hotel. Rooms have comfortable furnishings and tile floors, but they are aging. The 24-hour restaurant gets mixed reviews. The pool area – with waterslide, hot tub and lush gardens – is a boon. More of a stopover point for traveling Ticos than anything else.

Look for the sculpture of the boyero (oxcart driver) out front as you exit the highway.
