If you're looking for a jungle retreat that's a bit like a treehouse adventure, this awesome hostel run by a young expat couple is for you. About 2km uphill from Uvita, it features jaw-dropping jungle views from the dining terrace, a large communal kitchen, plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for relaxing, rooms with bamboo partitions, and a waterfall a short walk away.
The open architecture style means there's a great atmosphere among guests and you'll hear the glorious jungle symphony surrounding you, however, be aware that there's very little noise privacy. Breakfast is extra (US$7 per person). Rooms can be configured to accommodate kids and child-friendly tours can be organized. Yoga sessions (US$10) take place regularly, and there are snorkels and boogie boards for rent (US$5 per day). Shuttles bookable at reception.
