Though common areas feel a little faded, rooms at this budget hotel are in good nick, and the larger deluxes have plenty of space and are rather elegant. Hotel Star is in the thick of Plovdiv's pedestrian streets, but the double-glazed windows do a good job of filtering out the hubbub below.
