This communist-era high-rise is trying hard to modernise and is worth serious consideration. The updated, slightly more expensive 'Executive' rooms sport cutting-edge design, superclean baths and comfortable beds. The garden restaurant overlooks the Danube, and the top-floor Panorama restaurant is one of the better restaurants in town. The garden merits a visit even if you're not staying here.
