Pirajá

São Paulo

One of Sampa's most consistently great bars, this Rio-style boteco is an always-dependent Pinehiros staple for ice cold and perfectly creamy chope (draft beer). Has elevated bar food such as gourmet bolinhos (croquettes) with fillings like sun-dried beef, pork leg with kale and bacon or pumpkin; upscale working man's meat and rice dishes. Also does excellent (albeit ice-heavy) caipirinhas (from R$25).

It's a great place to watch a game, linger at sidewalk tables or mingle with a fun crowd in the retro-style dining room. Reserve ahead on weekends for occasional live samba.
