At lunchtime this delightfully welcoming little traiteur (deli-cafe) serves pasta and antipasto so good that they have customers clamouring for tables around the central open cook-station. Once lunch finishes it turns into a wine bar, with glasses served 'aperitivo' style with a delicious tapas-sized mini-dish included in the price.
The rear section is a wine shop – pay €12 over the asking price to have a drink in situ with whatever snacks might arrive. Tap water (flat or with added gas) is provided free on request – very un-Belgian. Maccheroni also has an equally impressive if much bigger restaurant at Rue Féronstrée 95, which does full dinners.
