Around 1km south of Mariembourg towards Nismes, this tourist-oriented microbrewery creates five well-balanced Fagnes beers (€3). Try them in a large part-timbered bar-bistro incorporating the working brewery equipment and a cute free museum of historic brewing paraphernalia. It offers pleasant outdoor seating and decent-value food (mussels, local trout, grilled meats, cheese and charcuterie plates).
It's also a great spot for kids – with indoor and outdoor playgrounds and video amusements. Despite the posted hours, the festive brasserie tends to stay open later during the summer (10pm or 11pm weekdays, midnight on weekends).
