Dukes’ Palace

Bruges

This large-scale five-star hotel is imposingly tall with a Disneyesque turret. It partly occupies the Prinsenhof building, Bruges’ 15th-century royal palace where Phillip III of Burgundy created the chivalric Order of the Golden Fleece in 1430. It was largely rebuilt in 2008 – some guest rooms retain historical elements, and the decor creates a timeless feel.
