About Rosie
New Zealand is my homeland, but I’ve been itinerantly bouncing around the globe for a decade, and in the process learnt that ‘home’ can be here, there and everywhere. As a freelance writer and photographer, it’s the perspective shift that travel offers that keeps me hooked - constantly examining all the different ways to live on this planet, and trying them on for size as I go along. I’m a big fan of loose plans, heading to places where I can slip into a more meaningful, local rhythm and not just feel like an intrusive cliche. Since joining Lonely Planet in 2023, I’ve always written from my hometown of Queenstown, NZ, while resetting between trips!
