Emperor Franz Joseph I declared Tafelspitz (boiled beef) his favourite meal, and this wood-panelled restaurant serves 10 different varieties, made from organic, pasture-reared Austrian beef, in gleaming copper saucepans. Schnitzel, pan-roasted calf's liver, and trout with bread dumplings with mushroom sauce are all excellent, too.
Its handful of other restaurants in Vienna include one near Stephansdom.
