Naschmarkt

Top choice in Vienna

Stretching 500m along Linke Wienzeile between the U4 stops of Kettenbrückengasse and Karlsplatz, this is Vienna's biggest and best market. The western (Kettengasse) end has meats, fruit and vegetables (including exotic varieties), spices, wines, cheeses, olives, Indian and Middle Eastern specialities, and kebab and felafel stands. Altogether, there are 123 fixed stalls, including numerous sit-down restaurants.

Temporary stalls such as farmers' stands are allocated another 35 places. The market peters out at the eastern end to stalls selling Indian fabrics, jewellery and trashy trinkets. A Flohmarkt, or flea market, sets up on Saturdays.
